The next page will ask you for information about yourself. Like a lot of companies on the web, E-Gold has some strict requirements when it comes to filling out your information and it can be a pain in the butt entering everything, only to find that you’ve done something wrong and you have to start over again.
You only really need to fill in the feilds that they display in bold text. Make Sure You Use Your Real Details. Make sure you register your E-Gold account with your correct name, address and phone number. If sometime in the future you find that your account has been hacked, or you lose your password then E-Gold will telephone you on your registered number so, dont be tempted to use false details, it might only cause problems for you and could get your account locked.
The Account Name and Username can be anything you want. It's a good idea to use your real name because if somebody wants to pay you they’ll be able to preview that the payment will go into your account, which can reduces the chances of sending the egold to the wrong account.
You should e nter more than 1 email address. E-Gold has a good security system where they will email you a PIN number if E-Gold finds that you are accessing your account from a different computer. If you then have a problem with your main email account then there is a possiblity that you might not receive this PIN number when you need it most, so it can cause a delay. What has been suggested is that you have at least 2 different email addresses here and you separate them by a comma. Use two different email providers so that if one has a problem you’ll still be able to receive your PIN with the other provider. Use a hotmail or yahoo address and also an ISP address. (An ISP address is the address your internet service provider gave you when you signed up for internet access.)
Enter you email addresses like this (with the comma separating them) … example1@hotmail.com , example2@yahoo.com
The Alternative Passphrase would be used if you have to speak with E-Gold by telephone to confirm your identity. Hopefully you may never need it but use something that you can remember such as your mother’s maiden name, dogs name or something like that.
The ‘New E-Gold Account Passphrase’ must contain letters AND numbers. If you don’t do this then E-Gold will tell you to change it and you’ll have to begin at the beginning again.
E-Gold’s Turning Number. Sometimes it is hard to see what is displayed. Sometimes you will get it wrong, but most times it can be read OK. This is to prove a human is entering the information and not a machine.
Once you have completed this form, click ‘Open’ to confirm your new account.
You will then receive an email within a few minutes from E-Gold (to both of your email addresses you entered above) that will tell you your account number. This will be a 7 or 8 digit number.
Make sure you don’t forget you E-Gold password so once you receive your E-Gold email with your E-Gold number return to the E-Gold website and login to be sure that the account works alright.
Signup is very simple to do. It should only take you a few minutes to complete. Now you have an E-Gold account so we will talk about funding this account later on.
It is extremely important to protect your E-Gold information. There have been people who have had their E-Gold accounts emptied out. This is no different than using your bank details on the net.
Fortunately E-Gold has a good security system so if E-Gold detects that you are using a different computer to the one you normally use then they will email you a PIN number before you can login. This will be sent to your email address, get this and enter the code they send on the E-Gold website. This means that if anybody does get your E-Gold account number and password then, unless they also have access to your email address, they will still not be able to get inside your account.

I recommend E-ForexGold. Their fees are competitive and you can even use direct deposit to their bank account if you have a bank account and want to do a bank transfer. (Bpay)
When you sign up with them ( a fee of $10 will be applied when you do your first transfer) you will be sent a deposit card that you can just take to the Australian Post Office. Take your cash and card, and they will scan the card and give you a receipt.
You then log onto the E-ForexGold site and let them know the details of your deposit.
If you do this by 5pm, E-ForexGold usually will have the money deposited into your E-Gold account within a few hours.
If You Live In New Zealand
If you are living in New Zealand, you can sign up with E-ForexGold and do a transfer from your bank account to their bank account. (Yes they have an account in NZ)
Unfortunately the Post Office in NZ doesnt have the same scheme as Australia does. E-ForexGold are looking for someone to trade for them.

Suggestions:
Emails - Don’t open any email that contains information about E-Gold or anything related to. Delete it straight away. Always remember that E-Gold will NEVER sent you an email to you if you did not first send them an email..
Firewalls - Install a firewall, Zonealarm is free and good one. Aslo Sygate is good as well.
Antivirus - Recommendations are to use Kaspersky. But remember most antivirus programs are good. But just use them correctly.
E-Gold says this - Please check your computer for the following Trojans Win32/Goldun.ia;
GDIWXP.DLL and pwsteal.trojan. We have had a couple of customers who
reported being infected with these viruses. One customer said he did not
find anything when he ran Norton and McAfee anti-virus software, but he
found the Win32/Goldun.ia Trojan when he used a software called ‘Kaspersky’.
Windows Cleaner - A good cleaner for temp and files not needed is a cleaner called “The Cleaner”
Anti Spyware - Use any antispyware software, my recommendation is a combination of “Spybot Search & Destroy”, and Adaware (from Lavasoft)
E-Gold email account - If possible use an email account that is not your comman email account. And perferabley not hotmail or yahoo or the likes. So no one will send you pishing emails/scam emails to login to your egold.
Private E-Gold account - Some people like to have two E-Gold accounts. One is used by you only. You can transfer moeny from this one to your other account and back. The other is used by you to forward money to your surfing account and for them to pay you. Personally I think this is going overboard if you look after it and use the SRK button for you passphrase. But it is up to you.
E-Gold PassPhrase - Never use the same E-Gold passphrase in other place. You should really have a different passphrase / password for everything.
Firefox - Use this as your main browser, Dont use Internet Explorer. It has too many security issues and too many spammers hacking it. Firefox is the industry standard for internet marketing.
